Apprenticeship

 Smurfit Kappa Hoya has a long and successful tradition in apprentice programmes. This tradition is based on the facts, that exceptional knowledge and technologies will only develop and survive by continuous training of the young generation.

Not only at our location Hoya qualified paper technologists and /or engineers are welcome specialists. In their three years apprentice time they get to know all off the different departments. Besides internal theoretic and practical training also an external training in one of the German paper-schools (Gernsbach) is part of the programme.

A major criterion for this kind of apprentice is a qualified school examination with focus on natural science or technical matters. Following the apprentice period , the paper-technologists have best opportunities in a safe and future-oriented business environment in all fields of the paper-and boxboard industries. On top of that we offer further opportunities in developing qualification needed for other jobs like master, machine operator, paper-technician etc.

Besides those direct paper linked apprentices we also offer young people to step into jobs like industrial business assistant, forwarding merchant, industrial electricians, industrial mechanics, in warehousing and logistics and qualified persons in sewage technology.

We take our responsibility for these apprentices very serious. That is why we also give young people in their school times also the chance to make a test on a job (practical training) to hand out earliest experiences. This should help them to recognize their abilities and bring them to the right decision for their future apprentice. Their start into working life must be built on solid basics!
