History
In 1955 the Container Corp. Of America founded the Europa Carton AG. The Hoya board mill was built in 1957. In the beginning the formerly KM 1 - the present PM 4 - produced containerboard, later folding boxboard. In 1990 was the start-up of PM 2 in Hoya mill. Our Company joined the Jefferson Smurfit Group in 2003.
At the end of 2005 Jefferson Smurfit and Kappa merged into Smurfit Kappa Group.
In November 2009 Hoya mill got corporate entity in its own right. The new name is Smurfit Kappa Hoya Papier und Karton GmbH.
