Smurfit Kappa GmbH in Hoya is a subsidiary company of the Smurfit Kappa Group, the world leader in paper-based packaging. The Smurfit Kappa Group is the European leader in containerboard, solid board, graphic board, corrugated and solid board packaging and has a key position in paper sacks and several other packaging and paper market segments. It also holds a strong position in Latin America.

In Hoya approx. 365.000 t per year Containerboard and White Lined Chipboard are produced from the raw material recovered paper on a paper and a board machine. These products are mostly processed in the corporate group’s own corrugated board mills in Germany and in other neighbouring European countries.

Established at the location of Hoya are also the corporate own forwarding company Visurgis (SK Germany) and WWG Weser Wertstoff GmbH whose activities recovered paper-recycling and waste management are.
